Captain Clement Utting

Early in the morning of 8 December 1948, Clement Utting, a British civilian pilot, was walking across the airfield at Wunstorf to his Avro Tudor aircraft. This was to have been his first night flight into Berlin. While walking, he was hit by a truck being driven across the airfield at some speed. Capt Utting died several hours later. The truck did not stop and was never found. The driver was never identified.
