A sad month for Britain’s civil airlines

There were unfortunately another two tragic plane crashes in March. On 15 March, a York transport plane from the Skyways airline crashed close to Gatow airfield. All three crew members on board died in the accident. On 27 March, a Halton operated by the company Lancashire Aircraft Corporation near to Schleswigland. In this crash, too, all three crew members lost their lives.

Both companies had only two planes each in operation during the airlift.
