Crews from New Zealand come on board

On 26 October 1948, flight crews from Whenuapei, New Zealand arrived at the British Royal Air Force base in Lübeck. Three crews for Dakota aircraft were assigned to airlift duty. Crews from New Zealand flew in the airlift until August 1949, clocking up a total of 473 flights in that period.
